Heres a little bit about me incase you wanted to know!
My name is Rachel, I live in a 2 bed semi on the outskirts of Bristol with my husband Nick, daughter Lucy, and Kitty the fat lazy cat. I grew up in a small town south of Bath, where we had a very large back garden which my dad used to grow a selection of vegetables. Being a typical child, I wasnt too interested in eating the actual vegetables, but it still facinated me. Dad even let me grow my own pumpkins (which unfortunately got smashed by some local kids who jumped the wall into the garden, but hey ho).
Fast forward today. I’m now in my mid-twenties, with a young child, who like me, has an aversion to vegetables. You read all these suggestions in magazines and online on how to encourage your child to eat veg, but most of these ideas involve hiding or disguising them in meals. Not exactly the best way to get kids to appreciate veg now is it.
Then came the day of the runner beans (check out my very first blog entry for more info) and its all gone from there.
So, I’m in pursuit of the “Good Life”, even if its just a small portion of it, and if I can get Lucy and I to eat more varieties of veg along the way, all the better!
